A mark is the fair value a lender assigns to a position it holds, expressed as a price per hundred of par, and published in its own filing.

A mark is the fair value a lender assigns to a position it holds, expressed as a price per hundred of par, and published in its own filing.
Each holder marks independently. Nothing obliges two holders of the same loan to arrive at the same number, and nothing in either filing reveals that the other exists.
Kanonstone never produces a mark. It measures the distance between marks other people published — the day a model of ours touched one, the product would become a liability rather than a reference.
