A Schedule of Investments is the exhibit in which a fund lists every position it holds, one line per investment, with the borrower, the instrument, the rate, the principal and the fair value it assigns.
It sits inside the 10-Q or 10-K of a business development company and often runs to hundreds of rows. Since the SEC required those schedules to be tagged in Inline XBRL — from February 2023 for the last funds concerned — each amount in them is machine readable, which is the single change that makes a cross-lender comparison possible at all.
