Interquartile range

also called IQR · middle half

The interquartile range is the span covered by the middle half of a set of values — the distance from the twenty-fifth to the seventy-fifth percentile.

What it looks like in a filing

It answers the question a highest-minus-lowest figure cannot: is everyone apart, or is one reporter away from the rest? A loan showing 3,400 basis points between its extremes but 850 across its middle half is one outlier, not a disagreement across the lending group.

What Kanonstone measures with it

Weighted by the value held, the middle half of the panel spans 70 basis points as of 31 March 2026, against 83.7 for the median highest-minus-lowest gap. Both are published, always together.
